Faber Academy - Writing a Novel

In 2025, I was highly commended to undertake the Faber Academy - Writing a Novel program to assist in the development of my novel in progress, THE LOVE OF THE GAME.

Faber&Faber have partnered with Allen & Unwin to produce this six month program of weekly classes, monthly full-day workshops, and twice-weekly critique/feedback sessions. I was lucky enough to have award-winning author Emily O’Grady as my tutor and an amazing class of great writers who have since become beloved friends.

I absolutely loved my time in this course and would recommend it to anyone serious about and dedicated to their writing craft. Through it, and alongside an interesting time in my life, I experienced project ego death and then uprising. The utter evolution of my writing and the connections I made with my class are beyond what I could have hoped for. It’s one of the best things I’ve ever done for my writing.
